When Lando Norris crossed the finish line to take his first-ever Formula 1 win at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, his parents weren’t in the grandstands — but they felt every second of it.
“It’s been amazing. It’s been a long time, but it’s there. We got there,” his father, Adam Norris, told Sky Sports afterward, his voice breaking. “People don’t realize there are a lot of bad days as well as good. But it makes it all worth it.”
For the McLaren driver, family has always been the constant through the highs and lows of F1.
Born in Bristol in 1999, Lando grew up in Somerset with his three siblings — older brother Oliver, and younger sisters Flo and Cisca — raised by Adam, a Bristol native, and Cisca Wauman, who hails from Belgium.
Adam built one of the U.K.’s most successful pension companies, Hargreaves Lansdown, before retiring at 36. He later founded Pure Electric, now the world’s No. 1 electric scooter brand.
Cisca, meanwhile, has been her son’s emotional anchor. On the Made with Love podcast, Lando delivered a heartfelt tribute: “Thanks for all the times you dealt with me, for making me into the person I am today. I think I’m a good guy… and a lot of that is because of you.”
The Norris household is packed with talent — Oliver was a successful kart racer before retiring in 2014, Flo competes internationally in equestrian events, and younger sister Cisca supports her siblings from the sidelines.
Despite his privileged upbringing, Lando credits his parents for keeping him grounded. “It’s an investment, not a given,” he said on the High Performance podcast. “One thing my mom and dad have done very well is keep me grounded and live as normal a life as possible.”
From cheering him on at his 2025 Australian Grand Prix win to celebrating his first British GP victory in July 2025 — where Cisca told him, "I love you so much. Enjoy.” — the Norris family’s pride is clear.
In a sport where drivers often live life in the fast lane, Lando Norris knows the real race is making his parents proud.
