The British GP is an important weekend for Lando Norris. The Silverstone round is the home weekend for the 25-year-old and his team. Thus, it is necessary for Norris to get a strong result, particularly compared to his teammate Oscar Piastri. Though, Qualifying didn’t help the Briton, as he could only secure third place.

Lando Norris has had a difficult time so far this year. The 25-year-old has failed to match Piastri on most occasions. However, Norris managed to bounce back at the Austrian GP with a dominant win. At Silverstone, the Briton did not have the pace to match pole-sitter Max Verstappen or Piastri who qualified in second place.

While Oscar Piastri put his car on provisional pole as time almost ran out in Q3, Norris was a bit behind. Though, at the end of the day, it was Max Verstappen who pulled off a stellar performance.

Following the session, Norris reckoned that Qualifying was dictated by small margins, and little mistakes. The McLaren star indicated that he could’ve had the shot pole if he just put forth some more pace. Moreover, the British driver highlighted that things were quite challenging due to the weather conditions on-track.

Little things today put you ahead or behind. Little margins, little mistakes can win or lose you the game today. It was tough in the conditions with the rain as well, but I think it is going to be fun tomorrow.

Lando Norris sets eyes on British GP victory

The British driver has won three races so far this year, one more than Max Verstappen. Though, Norris’ teammate, Oscar Piastri has won five races so far. Thus, pressure is on the Briton to try and find his way to victory on Sunday.

The 25-year-old made it clear that he would’ve wanted to start the race from pole position. He applauded the efforts of Max Verstappen to get back to the front of the grid amid recent Red Bull struggles. Nevertheless, Lando Norris asserted that he will be pushing himself to the limit to stand on the top step of the podium in front of his home fans.

Good qualifying. I am not going to be unhappy with a third. I would love to be on top at Silverstone but Max did a good job today.

Certainly, Lando Norris will be looking to turn things around on Sunday. The British driver needs to at least outperform his teammate to continue his bid for the world title. However, things will not be so easy for the 25-year-old, who faces not only Piastri but even Verstappen in the battle for the win.
