Lewis Hamilton has shared heartbreaking news with fan, confirming that his cherished dog Roscoe has passed away. In a deeply emotional message, the seven-time world champion described the pain of saying goodbye after Roscoe spent four days on life support.
The bulldog, who had become almost as recognizable as Hamilton himself within the F1 paddock, was a constant presence on the driver’s social media and the garage, endearing himself to fans around the world.
In his message, Hamilton revealed the painful decision he was forced to make after Roscoe’s health took a devastating turn.
“After four days on life support, fighting with every bit of strength he had, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe," Hamilton shared. “He never stopped fighting, right until the very end. I feel so grateful and honoured to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and true friend.”
Hamilton added that Roscoe died in his arms on Sunday evening, September 28, marking one of the most difficult experiences of his life. Though he has experienced loss before, Hamilton explained this was the first time he has been faced with the heart-wrenching decision of putting a beloved pet to sleep.
