Charles Leclerc , the F1 driver born in the Mediterranean principality of Monaco has only experienced torrid luck at his home track. The 26-year-old has finished the Grand Prix only two times. Despite the results, the Monegasque has always expressed his love for the hometown and claimed for it to have a special place in his heart.

The five-time Grand Prix winner acknowledged his misfortunes in Monte Carlo. However, Charles Leclerc claimed that he was confident this time around for his home race. As the 26-year-old had always had the pace in the race.

Monaco is very special for me. True that it hasn't been the most successful race for me until now. However, the pace was always there and that gives me the confidence that it will be the case this year too. Charles Leclerc said

Leclerc went about associating each segment of the track with the little pieces of his childhood. The Monegasque had travelled every part of the circuit in buses. As such, this made the race extra special for the Ferrari star.

As I’ve said many times, obviously, it’s the same roads that I took by bus to go to school when I was younger. Now it’s in a Formula 1 car. So that makes it extra special for me. So I’m really looking forward to it.

Fred Vasseur claims Charles Leclerc and Carlos ‘motivated’ for Monaco GP

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finished P3 and P5 respectively in the Emillia-Romagna GP. Ferrari Team Principal, Fred Vasseur looks forward to the next round in Monaco. Although, the Scuderia has faced to challenge for the race win in recent races.

Citing about the distinctiveness of the Monaco track, Vasseur mentioned about the Scuderia’s successful recent past on it. With the recent results, the Frenchman claimed that both Leclerc and Sainz were full of motivation ahead of the Monaco GP.

Ferrari have usually performed well recently in Monaco and both Leclerc and Sainz will have great motivation. Monaco is a track in itself where you race with the cars configured in a very particular way and also the asphalt and the grip is unique, a grip where cornering speed is not a factor. Fred Vasseur said, as reported by FormulaPassion.it

The Maranello-based team seems all set to gear up for the upcoming ‘unique weekend’ as described by Vasseur. However, Ferrari would need to match Red Bull and McLaren to have a real shot at winning the race in Monte Carlo.
