Max Verstappen’s $12 Million Yacht Turns Heads Ahead of Monaco GP

Max Verstappen may be focused on the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, but it’s his new $12 million superyacht that’s grabbing attention before lights out.

According to Formula 1 photographer and paddock insider Kym Illman, Verstappen recently took delivery of a Mangusta GranSport 22, a 33-meter luxury yacht built by Overmarine.

Illman reports the vessel features five bedrooms and was ordered two years ago. It’s been named Unleash the Lion, a nod to Verstappen’s personal branding — matching the initials on his private jets.

The yacht’s base price starts at $12 million, but with Verstappen’s customisations, it’s likely worth significantly more. Illman estimates the annual upkeep of the vessel at over $1.2 million, underscoring its elite status.

While many drivers keep their yachts docked in Monaco’s iconic harbor, Illman notes that Verstappen’s boat is moored in Cap d’Ail, just outside Monaco. The location is close to where many F1 drivers—including Verstappen—have homes, offering more privacy away from the spotlight.

Illman’s coverage also highlights that Unleash the Lion isn’t just a flashy purchase—it’s another subtle expression of Verstappen’s growing personal brand.

As Verstappen chases another victory on the streets of Monte Carlo, Unleash the Lion has already begun turning heads along the Riviera.

From dominating circuits to commanding the sea, the Red Bull star continues to make bold moves‚ both on and off the track.
