The Belgian Grand Prix got off to a dramatic start Sunday, but not in the way fans were hoping. Right after the formation lap, the race was red-flagged due to what officials called unsafe conditions on the track.

While some drivers, like Lando Norris, were on board with the decision, not everyone shared the same sentiment. Max Verstappen, never one to hold back, had a fiery reaction that’s now turning heads across the paddock and sparking debate in the F1 world.

After the race was red-flagged, Verstappen shared his thoughts. He said, “We'll that's a bit silly, I mean, you should just run a few laps, Jesus. They're way too cautious, now the heavy rain is coming, and then it's gonna be a 3 hour delay.”

Needless to say, fans in the comments were in agreement with Verstappen who also felt the approach was a bit too cautious.

One fan said, “Man is always ready for racing, but sadly bunch of fearmongers have taken the control of FIA..”

Another fan added, “Protecting their McLaren darlings.”

“Max in the rain is a threat for the Mclaren guys. F1 protect them to all costs. @F1 is becoming a complete [expletive]," said a fan.

Another fan pointed out, “they didn't even try to run laps behind the safety car to clear water... .”

“It’s just the bad drivers that are scared to go …” commented a fan with a rather bold take.

Another confident supporter said, “When it rains , max reigns….my goat is ready.”

Yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag for Max Verstappen. He nailed the sprint race, overtaking Oscar Piastri to grab the win, but only managed P4 in qualifying for Sunday's race.

That said, if there’s anyone who can climb up the order, especially in tricky conditions, it’s Max. The Dutchman has delivered some absolute master classes in the rain before, and fans are hoping for another one today.

As for the main race, though, we're still waiting on an update for when things will get going again. For now, it’s all eyes on the skies … and Race Control.
