Nico Rosberg has deemed McLaren driver Lando Norris as the worst F1 world championship contender of all time. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are currently the prime contenders for the 2024 drivers’ championship.

Max Verstappen leads the championship, by a margin of 62 points to second-placed Lando Norris. While the former has been on a declining run of form since the past few races, the latter has failed to capitalize on his opportunities as well.

Nico Rosberg has thereafter pitted Verstappen to clinch the title against the inconsistent performances of Norris. Rosberg then claimed that it was unfair for the Dutchman to have a fourth title win against an easy challenger like the Brit.

Rosberg: Verstappen will easily win the title and it upsets me. Presenter: It upsets you? Rosberg: I had to face Lewis Hamilton but Max gets to win a title against Norris, the worst title contender of all time. Nico Rosberg said upon being asked of his championship predictions

The remaining races of the campaign will be of great significance to the two contenders in winning the revered title. They will race with their utter might, trying to outpace the other while their respective teams will also work hard to excel on their behalf.

Lando Norris still believes in winning the championship this season

McLaren has collectively been a much superior force than Red Bull in the constructors’ championship this season. However, the team has greatly faltered in the drivers’ tussle despite possessing the fastest car on the grid.

Obviously I wouldn't say we’re running out of time, but time is going away slowly. I still believe that we can do it, you know the pace is obviously great. I still believe we probably had close to, if not the best car again today, so I don't know. It's not for me to decide. It's for the team. Lando Norris said via Formula1

Lando Norris has thereafter spoken on the team’s possibility to excel in both championships this year. He believes that the pace is competitive enough for the Papayas to win races but is worried about running out of time.

The Woking-based team has progressively improved this season. Everything is working well for the outfit and for Norris to have a serious shot at the drivers’ Championship, McLaren will have to start prioritizing the Brit from Azerbaijan onward.
