Oscar Piastri Sends Prayers After Tragic Bondi Beach Shooting

Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri has shared a heartfelt message following the tragic shooting at Bondi Beach, expressing his sorrow for the victims and admiration for those who responded in the aftermath of the incident.

The Australian posted the message on his Instagram story, writing that he was “saddened by the tragedy at Bondi Beach,” while extending his “thoughts and prayers with the loved ones of those who lost their lives.”

The McLaren driver also highlighted the bravery shown in the immediate response, praising the “incredible courage from emergency services and civilians.”

The incident has shaken Australia, drawing reactions from across sport and public life as details continue to emerge. Piastri, one of the country’s most prominent sporting figures on the global stage, joined many in acknowledging the profound impact of the tragedy and the strength shown by first responders and bystanders.

F1 interviewer and influencer Bella James highlighted a fundraiser effort in her Instagram story, sharing Pubity's post highlighting how the community successfully raised over $1 million to support Ahmed al Ahmed, who helped save lives during the incident.

A father of two and a local fruit shop owner, Ahmed, risked his life to protect strangers and is now recovering in the hospital after being shot twice in the process.

Meanwhile, renowned F1 commentator Toni Cowan-Brown also shared an Instagram story in response to the tragedy, writing, “Not just another shooting,” as tributes and messages of support continued to pour in.
