Red Bull reportedly set to sack Christian Horner before the Australian GP

Christian Horner has been at the forefront of controversies for the past few weeks. The 50-year-old was put under investigation over claims of inappropriate behavior by a female employee. The Briton was cleared of all allegations by Red Bull GmbH. However, new reports have emerged regarding the situation which could lead to Horner’s exit soon.

The Red Bull team boss reportedly had the backing of Red Bull’s majority shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya. However, as per F1 insider, the Thai shareholders now seek the advice of the Austrian ownership and CEO Oliver Mintzlaff. It must be noted that Late Dietrich Mateschitz’s son and Mintzlaff allegedly wanted to oust Christian Horner.

F1 insider claimed that a potential reason for this switch could be Red Bull’s vested interest in the US market. Influential women’s rights groups have been promoting a boycott of the energy drinks giant in the United States over the Christian Horner saga.

Moreover, Thai Red Bull owners fear that the female employee could go against the energy drinks giant in public over the case. Red Bull Racing recently suspended the employee after Christian Horner was cleared of all accusations.

As per SoyMotor, Christian Horner will be let go by Milton Keynes before the start of the Australian GP weekend. This would be a major blow to the 50-year-old who had managed to ignore backlash for the past few weeks.

Rock Band U2 reportedly set to release a song against Christian Horner

Christian Horner might be facing trouble from the music industry as well. As per SoyMotor, Irish rock band U2 might be working on a song to help the female employee. As per reports, the brother of the employee is the son-in-law of U2 guitarist, ‘The Edge.’

The Edge reportedly has planned to title the song, “Don’t be h*rny, be Christian.” According to reports, Red Bull’s Thai ownership fears that the influence and following of U2 could further surround the Austrian giant in controversy regarding Christian Horner.

Certainly, the recent reports show that Horner might lose his hard-fought power struggle at Milton Keynes. However, it must be noted there has been no official statement regarding the exit of Christian Horner or a song against the Briton by U2. As such, fans would need to wait and see how things go for Red Bull and Horner in the coming days.
