In Formula 1, few things show a driver’s mastery like the Grand Slam, otherwise known as “Grand Chelem”. To do something that is so rare and special, a driver has to accomplish four things on one weekend:
It’s not enough to simply win. The driver also must dominate throughout the entire race and prove that he is the fastest in a single lap of the race as well.
As of August 2025, only 27 drivers have ever completed a Grand Slam. It has happened 69 times in the history of F1, and Jim Clark holds the record for the most consecutive Grand Slams with 8 which he completed between 1962 and 1965.
Some of the greats who have pulled off a Grand Slam include Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, and Max Verstappen.
Among active drivers, Lewis Hamilton has collected 6 Grand Slams, the most in the modern era.

Oscar Piastri achieved the latest Grand Slam in August 2025 at the Dutch Grand Prix. Piastri was only in his ninth Grand Prix victory, and not only had he just achieved his first-ever Grand Slam, but he did it with apparent ease and skill.
It's safe to say, following this rare accomplishment, that Piastri can look ahead to even more staggering achievements in his F1 career.
The Grand Slam is itself a rare enough achievement to make it one of the rarest achievements in F1. Many of the world’s Champions who have achieved great success never did all four in a single weekend, and when a driver does it is a true moment of total accomplishment.
