Most teenagers are nervous about getting behind the wheel for the first time, but not 16-year-old Ty Frederickson.  The teenager who is quickly becoming a household name in American stock car racing is slated to make his ARCA Menards debut this weekend at Elko Speedway in Minnesota.

The youngster will pilot the No. 25 Toyota Camry for Venturini Motorsports alongside full-time drivers Isabella Robusto and Lawless Alan. Frederickson has been racing since the young age of seven, so it came as no shock to his hometown of Webster, Minnesota, when word got out that he was making his professional debut.

He is no stranger to racing, having competed in the ASA Stars National Tour, where he secured the Rookie of the Year title in 2024 and the Kulwicki Cup Championship title. Frederickson’s win was historic, as he became the circuit’s youngest winner.

This is a testament to the impact he will bring to the Menards circuit and his start with the winningest team in ARCA history, Venturini Motorsports. He certainly has the talent, but can he rise to the expectations of a more disciplined circuit?

Why Running in ARCA is Pivotal to Ty Frederickson’s Growth

NASCAR’s feeder Series, ARCA Menards, is about to shape its newest prospect, Ty Frederickson, into racing’s next standout star. This is pivotal to the young driver’s growth in the sport of racing because it will provide a cornerstone for transitioning from the local Minnesota short track he’s used to larger and more challenging superspeedways. Speedways like Daytona International and Talladega.

Saturday’s race at Elko Speedway is just the tip of the iceberg for the driver’s exposure and to showcase his raw talent.  A native of Webster, Minnesota, Ty Frederickson has quickly become a hometown favorite after winning 12 races in the ASA Series, and he’s ready to add to that during his debut run in the Shore Lunch 250.

After his signing with Venturini Motorsports this afternoon, the rookie was asked about what it feels like to be behind the wheel and to win. He explained that it’s nerve-wracking and likened it to speeding down the highway at 150 mph, with inches separating him from other vehicles. Frederickson added that while it’s crazy on the track at times, he views winning as the best part of the experience.

“You’re on the edge the entire time,” Fredrickson said. “Imagine going 150 on the freeway with about an inch between all of the cars. It’s very wild, a lot of stuff is going on. It’s fun, and winning is definitely the best part about it. It feels so good to be in victory lane,” Ty Frederickson stated in a pre-race interview.

Final Thoughts

Young standout Ty Frederickson is set to make his debut in the ARCA Menards Series as one of the youngest drivers in the history of the sport. He’s already made a name for himself in stock car racing in the lower-tier series ASA, but it’s clear that he’s ready to expand upon this and will undoubtedly climb the ladder to the upper tier very soon.

Perhaps fans will see him in the Craftsman Truck Series or Xfinity Series in the coming months. Stay tuned. Want to catch Frederickson’s debut live? Make sure to tune into FS2, FloRacing, or the FloSports app at 9 p.m. EST. This is a race you won’t want to miss.
