2017 NFL Mock Draft

Quarterback is the biggest area of need for the Browns, obviously, after trading the No. 2 overall pick this year instead of taking Carson Wentz. Unfortunately, the 2017 draft crop is lacking at the position, and there's also no reason for Cleveland to overdraft with a bevy of draft picks. The best player on the board is Garrett, a game-changing pass rusher.

Just behind Garrett is Allen, who has seven sacks this season as Alabama's top defensive player. The 49ers really need a signal caller for Chip Kelly to develop, but there will be plenty later in the draft with upside.

Perhaps the most dynamic defensive back to come out of college since fellow Michigan man Charles Woodson, Peppers would immediately address Jacksonville's biggest defensive weakness. The Jags could also use offensive line help, but the early draft depth is lacking.

The Bears have been searching for better cornerback play over the last couple years, and Humphrey certainly provides an option. The team will likely also be searching for a quarterback, of course, but it remains to be seen if they'll gamble on any in the 2017 crop so early.

Trubisky has emerged this season but would still be a bit of a reach at No. 5. Still, this is New York, and taking a quarterback is the type of headline that the Jets need. The junior quarterback has thrown for more than 3,000 yards and completed more than 70 percent of his passes.

Cam Newton and Fournette in the same offense? Defensive coordinators are already shaking. Granted, the Panthers would likely need to keep losing to keep such a high pick, which might not happen considering how they've played since the bye. Offensive tackle is also a major area of need with the nasty hits Newton has taken this season, and it's no lock Fournette declares for the draft, as recent reports indicate he may return to LSU for his senior season.

The Cincinnati defense has aged quickly and will likely be looking to add significant youth in the offseason. Williams fits the bill as an elite edge pass rusher with eight sacks this season.

Another lost year for Keenan Allen could spark the Chargers to take another wide receiver. Their pick of tight end Hunter Henry this year has worked well, and adding a talented wideout like Williams could be the high-flying weapon Philip Rivers needs to take the offense to the next level.

Tabor is becoming a household name in the college game and would add an excellent cover corner to a fast-improving Titans defense. The team could also use wide receiver help, but that could be had later in the draft with Tennessee's selection of picks.

The Tampa offense continues to grow and has done so without Doug Martin for most of this season. The defense is still deficient in the pass rush, so an edge rusher like McKinley would be a nice fit. He has 10 sacks for the Bruins this season.

Frank Gore has been OK for the Colts, but averaging only 4.1 yards per carry, the team can certainly do better. Cook has game-breaking ability and is putting up huge stats again this season.

The Packers thought they found an answer at tight end with Jared Cook, but it's apparent that's not going to work out. Howard has major talent as a pass catcher and blocker, and it's clear that Aaron Rodgers needs more weapons and protection with the way Green Bay's offense has sputtered.

Rex Ryan has rarely seen a defensive player of Adams' talent that he didn't fall in love with. The Bills will get 2016 picks Shaq Lawson and Reggie Ragland back on the field, so adding a talent to the secondary would complete the trifecta.

The Saints would do back flips if Foster falls this far as a possibly elite inside linebacker. They have been desperate for playmakers like Foster on defense for many years, and they also need all the cornerback help they can get if Foster isn't an option.

Harris has struggled this season in Missouri's new defensive scheme, but he remains one of the most talented pass rushers in college. The Steelers have been desperate for any pass-rush help this season, which is an area that has been exposed after the loss of Cameron Heyward.

Cunningham has been highly productive, to say the least, for the Commodores with double-digit tackles in six games this year. The Arizona defense has been more leaky this season, and there isn't really a strong-armed quarterback in the first round that the team would develop behind Carson Palmer.

Smith-Schuster was the top wideout on the board coming into the year and could be quite a steal if he falls this far. The athletic wideout had 89 receptions for 1,454 yards last season and has three multi-touchdown games this year.

The talented Barnett would be rather imposing next to Ndamukong Suh. He's come on strong late in the year with 10 sacks after being quiet over the first three games of the season.

Watson's stock has taken a hit this season, and there are also some questions about his durability given his skinny frame and past knee injury. Still, it's difficult to overlook the athleticism or the huge numbers that he's put up in consecutive seasons for the Tigers.

Using the first-round pick that they acquired in the Sam Bradford trade, a cornerback is certainly in play for the Eagles. The defense has performed admirably despite some issues at the position, and Lattimore has the ability to address those issues.

Despite the team's struggles this season, Thomas has held his own for the Stanford defense. The junior has seven sacks for the Cardinal and moved up on draft boards quickly.

It's no mystery that offensive tackle will be a top priority this offseason now that the team looks set to bench Donald Stephenson on the right side. The offensive line has done a poor job of protection this season, which hasn't helped an already shaky quarterback situation. Robinson has the talent to go well before this spot.

The Giants defense is much improved, but it remains to be seen if Jason Pierre-Paul will be brought back in 2017. If not, Lawson becomes a nice option, emerging as one of the college game's top pass rushers this season.

Davis has been a very productive force for one of the top defenses in the country. The Raiders could use some help on the inside, and Davis is ready to help immediately.

An all-around outside linebacker for the Tide, Anderson has 6.5 sacks and also does a great job stopping the run. He's probably not Terrell Suggs' replacement, but he will make Baltimore's defense better.

McDowell hasn't been a great pass rusher in college, which could cause him to fall down the board. On the other hand, his athleticism at defensive tackle is very hard to find. The Lions would do well to get McDowell at this point.

Smoot is constantly double-teamed on a bad Illinois roster but has the talent to be a nice pass rusher for a late first-round pick. He's also had the NFL head coaching of Lovie Smith this year. The Falcons need another pass rusher to pair with Vic Beasley.

If the Texans are going to stick with Brock Osweiler, adding a tight end of Hodges' talent would be a welcomed addition. Bill O'Brien loves to use the tight end in his offense, and Hodges has elite speed and size.

Seattle has been desperate for help at tackle, and Russell Wilson's early-season injuries made the need even more clear. It would be hard to believe if the Seahawks don't address the offensive line this offseason, and Ramczyk is a top candidate.

The Chiefs were rumored to be interested in taking Paxton Lynch this year before the Broncos jumped in front of them, and a long-term answer at quarterback for Andy Reid to develop could still be on the table. The contracts of Eric Berry and Dontari Poe could also present some more pressing needs.

McCaffrey is the type of player offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels loves, with the ability to work in almost any role. The team has used James White in the third-down back role and hopes to get Dion Lewis back at some point, but McCaffrey provides a long-term answer and could also contribute out of the slot and as a kick returner.

Dallas overlooked defensive help in this year's draft to get Ezekiel Elliott, and the gamble paid off. That doesn't mean the Cowboys can overlook defensive help again. The defensive line and secondary are both major spots of need, and King would be able to address one of them.
