It was a busy day on the injury front on August 22. Many notable players came off the injured list, including 2025 All-Star Jacob Wilson. However, there were also updates on Landen Roupp and Evan Carter, both of whom had to be placed on the injured list.
The Rangers placed outfielder Evan Carter on the IL on the 22nd, the third time he’s landed there this season. This time, it’s for a fractured right wrist.
Carter previously spent time on the injured list this season with a quad strain and back spasms. Now, add a fractured wrist — an injury that could end his 2025 season — to the list.
Additionally, Marcus Semien, who left the Rangers’ game yesterday, did not play on the 22nd against the Guardians.
In more positive news, Adolis Garcia took live BP and could return this weekend.
The Giants officially placed Landen Roupp on the 15-day IL, retroactive to August 21. It’s for a left knee sprain. Carson Whisenhunt was recalled to replace Roupp.
Roupp sustained the injury on August 20 and was carted off the field.
The Orioles transferred Felix Bautista, out for the rest of 2025 and beyond, to the 60-day IL. It was part of a lengthy IL shuffle on the 22nd.
Brandon Young (hamstring strain) and Jordan Westburg (ankle sprain) were placed on the injured list. Additionally, Gary Sanchez (knee sprain) was transferred to the 60-day IL.
Jackson Chourio was assigned to Nashville (AAA) to begin his rehab assignment. Chourio sustained a hamstring strain nearly a month ago.
Tylor Megill struck out four over five innings (65 pitches) for Syracuse (AAA). Megill topped out at 96 MPH during the outing.
The Athletics placed Jack Perkins on the 15-day IL with a strained right shoulder. Additionally, Ben Bowden hit the injured list with a strained lat.
Cubs reliever Ryan Brasier was placed on the IL with a left groin strain.
Gabriel Moreno (Diamondbacks), Tanner Scott (Dodgers), Robert Stephenson (Angels), Jacob Wilson (Athletics), Shane Bieber (Blue Jays), Lance McCullers Jr. (Astros), and Jake Bauers (Brewers) were activated off the injured list.
