2026 Cape Cod League Preview: Cotuit Kettleers

Tague Davis had a monster campaign for the Louisville Cardinals, a team that didn’t meet expectations in 2026 — but he did. And, heading into the summer, Davis headlines a deep Cotuit Kettleers offense for the 2026 campaign.

There are some notable non-DI talent, as Grady Bivens and Tyler Brashear from Eckerd College, who are on the Cotuit roster. Bivens struck out 90 batters over 72.2 IP for the Tritons, while Brashear averaged over a strikeout per inning out of the rotation this season for the school.

Sophomore Eli Buxton struck out 28 over 17.1 IP out of Arizona State’s bullpen this season. Fastball/cut-slider combo, with the former running up to 95 MPH this season.

Junior pitcher Ryan Buckler was hit hard with FAU this season, as he gave up 21 hits and 15 earned runs over 9.2 IP this season.

Cotuit’s roster includes one of the more intriguing players in the Cape Cod League: 22-year-old Seojun Oh from South Korea. It was a very good year for Oh, who hit 17 home runs and walked 36 times over 56 contests this season.

Additionally, Hogan Denny, the Hoosiers’ co-leader in home runs (14), is on Cotuit. And, the individual with whom he was tied is also on the Kettleers.

One would think there’s not much for Tague Davis, who hit 34 home runs with Louisville & is presently the DI leader in said category, to prove as he heads into his junior season. But that mindset is wrong.

Proving that the power translates with wood bats is vital. There are just some players who’ve excelled in college in terms of pop. But once in pro ball, that power evaporates.

Sophomore JJ Moran took a step forward in 2026, even though his .261 average was just a tick higher than his .259 average in abbreviated action as a freshman. Eight home runs and 23 total extra-base hits for the Stanford Cardinal.

Noah Coy posted a .414 on-base percentage with the Fighting Irish this season.

And then there’s Jake Hanley, who helped power the Indiana offense alongside Hogan Denny.

Jayce Lee excelled with Notre Dame this season, as he was part of a deep offense that included Bino Watters and Mark Quatrani, the latter of whom is with Bourne. Lee hit 13 home runs for Notre Dame this season, third-most on the team.

Landon Beaver slashed .310/.445/.484 with UAB this season, with seven home runs.

Isaac Sturgess finished 2026 as the Michigan State Spartans leader in total hits (61).
