With the NFL season just around the corner, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is set to make his highly anticipated return to the field after a frustrating 2024 campaign derailed by an Achilles injury.
The 49ers had a down year overall, finishing 6-11, though no team in the league dealt with more injuries. Still, they remain only two years removed from winning the NFC and reaching the Super Bowl.
When healthy, McCaffrey is undeniably one of the best running backs in the NFL, with a workload that’s second to none. In 2023, en route to winning Offensive Player of the Year, the former Stanford star rushed for 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding 564 receiving yards and seven more scores.
Now healthy entering his ninth NFL season, McCaffrey has shared some exciting personal news less than two weeks before Week 1: he has officially joined "While on Earth," a performance wellness brand offering footwear, apparel, and accessories, as both a co-founder and investor.
"I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined @whileonearth as co-founder and investor," McCaffrey wrote. "For me, this is bigger than performance or apparel — it’s about meaning. How we move, how we spend our time, and what we leave behind.
"Football has taught me discipline, resilience, and focus. Life has taught me presence. while on earth™ is where those meet. I’m so grateful for the while on earth™ team and can’t wait to help shape what’s next."
Christian McCaffrey has now added this to his growing list of business ventures since being drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2017.
He currently holds partnership deals as a business partner or brand ambassador with global companies such as Cadillac, BodyArmor, Movado, Pepsi, and Abercrombie & Fitch. He was previously sponsored by Nike, but with the launch of his new brand, he is no longer affiliated with the company.
