Amanda Godsey, who covers the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt football, reports that the San Francisco 49ers plan to meet with Pitt defensive back Donovan McMillon ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, she does not specify whether the meeting will be an in-person visit or a virtual session.

McMillon (6-1, 203) spent two seasons at Florida before transferring to Pitt in 2023. Last season, he played in 13 games with 12 starts, posting a career-high 115 tackles (one for a loss), while logging one interception, a forced fumble, and eight passes defensed, per Sports Reference. Over his two years at Pitt, he recorded 220 total tackles, leading the team in tackles each season.

The 49ers met with McMillon at the Hula Bowl in January and could be looking to add depth to their secondary. San Francisco may view McMillon as a potential safety option with the draft approaching.

Although he was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, McMillon participated in Pitt's Pro Day on Wednesday, posting a 4.47-second 40-yard dash and 21 bench press reps, giving NFL teams a good look at his potential at the pro level.

The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
