Ken Ruinard / staff / USA TODAY NETWORK

Dorian Barney made the first cut to his recruitment Wednesday via social media.

Barney attends Peachtree Ridge High School in Georgia, and he is a 2026 four-Star defensive back recruit. He has cut his recruitment down to 12 schools with him holding more than 30 college football offers.

Alabama, Clemson, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee and USC were included in the Georgia product’s first cut.

The Crimson Tide’s new staff has hosted Barney twice. His latest visit was near the end of last month, and he said his return to Tuscaloosa had a home feeling.

“It felt like home,” Barney told Touchdown Alabama. “I am really happy I came back.”

The four-star is listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds. He closes on the football really well and attacks it in coverage. The Georgia prospect also comes downhill with impressive speed and displays great reaction skills when he diagnoses where a play is going.
