The NCAA college football transfer portal continues to heat up, following the end of the 2024 regular season.
While several programs prepare for the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff, teams around the country have started to revamp their roster in preparation for the 2025 season.
One player that could certainly lift a program is recent transfer portal entrant Maverick Mclvor. After three years at Abilene Christian, Mclvor opted to enter the transfer portal for his last year of eligibility.
The talented quarterback announced the news on Thursday while sending a heartfelt message to Wildcats fans and the coaching staff at Abilene Christian.

Mclvor originally committed to the Texas Tech Raiders in 2018 and enrolled in the program in 2019. After spending a few years with the Red Raiders, the 6-foot-2 quarterback transferred to Abilene Christian in 2022.
The Texas native was originally listed as a three-star prospect, ranked as the No. 19 dual-threat quarterback and No. 792 overall player in the class of 2019, per 247Sports.
In three years at Abilene Christian, Mclvor produced 61 touchdowns and 8,035 yards with a 60.1 completion percentage.
During his final season with the Wildcats in 2024, Mclvor recorded 30 touchdowns and 3,847 yards with a 62.5 completion percentage.
He led the Wildcats to a 9-5 record, including 7-1 in the United Athletic Conference. They lost to North Dakota State in the second round of the FCS playoffs.
