Miami Trace High School offensive tackle Adam Guthrie commands 21 offers after his sophomore season. His suitors include Auburn, Kentucky, Penn State, Syracuse, and Texas A&M. Guthrie stands 6-7 and 285 pounds and is fresh off leading Miami Trace to a 7-5 record. He's set up several unofficial visits for the spring, including a first look at the Vols.
Tennessee offered Guthrie on Monday a few short minutes after he released his visit schedule. Offensive line coach Glen Elarbee has a strong team of assistants who help him identify these early talents and begin developing relationships. They'll help him work on Guthrie when he arrives in Knoxville, Tennessee, as he looks like an early national prospect. Guthrie has already visited the Michigan Wolverines and the Ohio State Buckeyes early in his career; it's tough to pull northern prospects from the Big Ten, but if an SEC coaching staff deems them worth the effort, they certainly will pursue.
