Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant is often featured on lists of the greatest scorers of all time.
Other prominent names on such lists are usually Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, who fans still consider two of the best scorers of all time.
While fans never had a chance to witness Kevin Durant share the court with Jordan, they did see him do the same with Bryant for Team USA.
One may wonder who came out as the best scorer for Team USA; well, one NBA fan claimed it was the Los Angeles Lakers legend.
During the 2012 Olympics, basketball fans witnessed the Mamba and the Slim Reaper share the court for Team USA.
Evidently, Team USA dominated the tournament, winning the gold medal in the process. Speaking of their time together, an NBA fan labeled KD an inferior scorer compared to Bryant.
Upon seeing the viral tweet on X, the Houston Rockets star didn’t waste much time before clapping back at the fan.
“Mamba is one of my idols, I love him, but I averaged at least 20 a game in gold medal games. Had a 30-piece nugget with Kobe on the floor actually,” Durant wrote on X.
He added: “History lessons aren’t a sign of insecurity, you choosing to forget is! Have a good day, Jakob.”

For context, Durant referred to the 2012 gold medal game between the U.S. and Spain. He dropped 30 points to win a gold medal for Team USA.
With the offseason in full flow, the Rockets’ star has some extra time on his hands. He’s using it to counter NBA fans’ arguments on social media platforms.
Previously, Durant fired back at fans over the GOAT scorer debate, claiming he’s a coach’s dream.
Considering KD has averaged 27.2 points per game over his NBA career, it’s no surprise he rates himself so highly.
Aside from that, Durant also made a Michael Jordan fan angry over the three-level scorer debates. All things considered, the 2x NBA champion is on a mean streak where he’s not holding back one bit.
