The Coachella Valley Firebirds today extended forward Landon McCallum to a one-year AHL contract for the 2025-26 season. The 21-year-old forward spent last season in the ECHL with the Kansas City Mavericks, appearing in 65 games, recording 39 points on 15 goals and 24 assists. He was a +11 with four power-play goals, three game-winning goals, and 67 penalty minutes. McCallum also appeared in 15 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, recording six points on a goal and five assists. He was a minus-one with ten penalty minutes.

Before joining the ECHL spent five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Sudbury Wolves. In his first season, he appeared in 52 games, recording six points on two goals and four assists. He was a -14 with 25 penalty minutes. He didn’t play in the second season. McCallum returned in 2021-22, playing in 62 games, recording 27 points on nine goals and 18 assists. He was a -22 with 97 penalty minutes.
In year four, he played in 68 games, recording 61 points on 17 goals and 44 assists. McCallum was a +24 with 77 penalty minutes. He also played in four playoff games, scoring two goals, was a minus-three, and had eight penalty minutes. In 2023-24, his final season, he played in 64 games, recording 59 points on 21 goals and 38 assists. He was a +13 with 87 penalty minutes. McCallum also played in nine games, recording four points on three goals and an assist. He was a minus-six with ten penalty minutes.
