The Coachella Valley Firebirds are bringing back a defenseman as they signed Charlie Wright to an AHL contract for the 2025-26 season. This past season, Wright played in 21 games with the Firebirds. He had four assists. He finished with a minus-three with two penalty minutes. In 35 games with the Kansas City Mavericks in the ECHL, he had 17 points on four goals and 13 assists. He was a +18 with two game-winning goals and two penalty minutes. In 15 Kelly Cup Playoff games, he had three points on two goals and an assist. He was a plus-four with ten penalty minutes.

Charlie Wright

Wright, before joining the Kraken organization, played for the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League. In his first season with the Blades, he appeared in 40 games, recording three assists. He was a minus-seven with ten penalty minutes. In year two, he played in 24 games, recording seven points on a goal and six assists. Wright was a plus-ten with eight penalty minutes. In 2021-22, he played in 58 games, recording 19 points on a goal and 18 assists. He was a plus-three with six penalty minutes.

In Wright’s fourth season, he played in 66 games, recording 39 points on eight goals and 31 assists. He was a +33 with 24 penalty minutes. In his final season, he played in 68 games. He had 35 points on five goals and 30 assists. Wright was a plus-four with 35 penalty minutes. He finished his time in the WHL playing in 256 games, recording 83 points on 15 goals and 88 assists. He was +43 with 83 penalty minutes.
