No. 1 transfer quarterback Aidan Chiles has set up an official visit to Michigan State for this upcoming weekend.

Buckle up, Michigan State fans, there’s a huge weekend of recruiting coming up. And while it’ll be filled with high school prospects making their way to East Lansing, there will also be another massive name on campus: Aidan Chiles.

According to Brandon Huffman and Justin Thind of 247Sports, Chiles will be in East Lansing this weekend.

This is big news because everyone has been wondering when he was going to announce where he’d be going, but he hadn’t even taken a single visit yet. Setting up his first (and maybe only) visit with Michigan State for the weekend after the transfer portal opened is huge.

Experts have been saying ever since Chiles hit the portal that Michigan State was the favorite to land him and they “expected” the Spartans to sign him in the end because of his connection with Jonathan Smith. Following Smith to East Lansing would ensure him that QB1 role and he’d take over an offense that needs to rebuild, but it could have potential if the new coach continues to add more pieces.

Plus, he has Nick Marsh in his ear about joining him at Michigan State. That would be a lethal combination.

The Spartans have zero scholarship quarterbacks on the roster heading into the offseason so getting Chiles is priority No. 1. The fact that he’s also been ranked by 247Sports as the top quarterback transfer is huge. He has unbelievable potential and he could be an instant star in East Lansing.

Familiarity with the offense and the coaching staff will help. He just has to fall in love with Michigan State. Hopefully Smith can sell him on it.

This could be a huge weekend for Michigan State football as Smith faces his first round of official visits as head coach. All eyes are on Chiles.
