Alabama 5-Star edge commit tells fellow 5-Star to ‘stay home’

Alabama football’s five-star edge commit, Xavier Griffin wants to play alongside another five-star at the University of Alabama.

Griffin has his eyes set on Anthony Jones, who is a five-star recruit out of St. Paul’s Episcopal in Mobile, Alabama. He is down to Alabama, Oregon and Texas A&M. Jones told reporters earlier this week he will be announcing a commitment sometime in between July and the first week of August.

Touchdown Alabama was able to catch up with Griffin on Saturday, and he has a clear message for Jones.

“Stay home,” Griffin said.

“Stay home.”

Jones recently spoke highly of his relationship with Alabama.

“It’s great,” Jones said. “I know when they first came, it wasn’t really that good. But now, I have built relationships with the coaches, and it got way better, especially with coach C Rob (Christian Robinson).”
