Alabama football’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb wants the Crimson Tide’s tight ends to learn from Noah Fant.

Fant played tight end for the Seattle Seahawks when Grubb was the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator during the 2024 NFL season. He pulled in 64 receptions for 500 yards and a touchdown in 14 games which was an increase in his production from the 2023 season when he played in 17 games.

Grubb and the Tide’s Tight End Coach Bryan Ellis consistently send film of Fant to their tight ends, per Alabama tight end, Josh Cuevas.

“We watch a lot of Noah Fant film,” Cuevas said. “Coach Grub, he gives me a whole bunch of clips and Coach Ellis, he gives me a whole bunch of his clips, just kind of watching how dynamic he is on the ball and off the ball and just kind of just trying to work to replicate his game a little bit more. So, there’s a lot of film on the Seahawks coming with coach Grubb, but it’s been great.”

Cuevas is Alabama’s most experienced returning tight end. With the departure of CJ Dippre and Robbie Ouzts, the Washington transfer is expected to play a bigger role in the Tide’s offensive attack in 2025 after pulling in 26 receptions for 218 yards and a touchdown last season.
