It's been quite the week for Alexandria's Chase Thompson.

On Saturday, Thompson was the driving force for Alexandria as it claimed its first-ever state title by claiming the Class 3A crown. And on Thursday, Thompson was named Minnesota Mr. Basketball, presented to the most outstanding senior player in the state.

Thompson was a standout for the Cardinals this season, averaging 24.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, according to stats provided by the MN Boys Basketball Hub. In Alexandria's 73-64 victory over Mankato East in the Class 3A title game, Thompson scored a game-high 28 points on 10-for-18 shooting and added seven rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in a dominant all-around effort.

Thompson is the No. 2-ranked recruit in Minnesota's 2025 class, according to 247Sports, and the three-star prospect is committed to play at Clemson next year.
