2024 Three-Star Tight End Gavin Grover Talks Decision To Sign With UC

TUNNEL HILL — Gavin Grover is a 6-foot-6, 240-pound and three-star tight end prospect who has signed with the Cincinnati Bearcats. He should play a big factor for the Bearcats moving forward as he starts his freshman season as an early enrollee.

“From the get-go in my recruiting process I could see the amount of pride people in Cincinnati carry for their football team there,” Grover stated to All Bearcats. “A big reason for me coming to Cincinnati was me wanting to be a part of something bigger than myself. With them joining the Big 12 and building a new state-of-the-art facility there wasn’t a better choice for me.”

The talented tight end dove deeper into his relationship with a very specific coach. “(tight ends) Coach (Josh) Stepp has for sure had the biggest impact on me. I trust he can work with me and take me where I want to go.”

He talked more about the impact he could make on this team. “As a young guy coming in I want to help wherever I can,” Grover stated. “Whether it’s doing scout team during the week or rotating in with some of the older guys on Saturdays. I also want to make it a priority to help with the special teams!”

“It was definitely a selling point coming here when you look back at the rich history of tight ends to come through Cincinnati. It also brings expectations to be one of the best tight ends in the country.”

Grover talked a bit about his decision and when he knew it was the correct choice for him. “Spring going into my senior season. When I committed is when I knew I made the right decision.”
