Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed his selections for the Brazil national team squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers coming up in September, including one Serie A player in his 25-man roster.

Brazil will take on Chile at the Maracana on September 5, before taking on Bolivia in El Alto five days later on September 10. Brazil are currently 3rd in the CONMEBOL section of World Cup qualifying after 16 matches.

Roma wing-back Wesley Franca is the only Serie A representative in Ancelotti’s September squad, following his goalscoring debut with the Giallorossi in a 1-0 victory over Bologna in the weekend just gone.

Ancelotti has called up 12 Premier League representatives, four from the Brazilian Serie A, three from Ligue 1, two from Russia, and one apiece from Serie A, LaLiga and the Saudi Pro League.

Despite his long-standing connection with Real Madrid, none of Xabi Alonso’s players have been called up this time around. That means no Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo or Eder Militao.
