At this point, Anthony Edwards and Adidas are having fun . The Minnesota Timberwolves star and the shoemaker company have had a good relationship over the years, and it seems like it’s only helping the brand acquire more players under the umbrella.
In a new Adidas campaign centered around Ant-Man, the brand has effectively confirmed Kelsey Plum’s long-rumored move to the brand.
The Los Angeles Sparks guard made a brief but notable appearance in the rollout for Edwards’ “Believe That 1” model. While Adidas didn’t formally announce the signing, Plum’s inclusion, along with her recent social media activity, left little doubt about the shift.

The move follows months of speculation. The WNBA champion had been wearing Adidas gear since January, even though it was still under contract with Under Armour. By April, she officially parted ways with the brand, fueling expectations of a new deal.
Her cameo in the campaign now stands as a soft launch, but the timing, however, is strategic. Adidas continues to build a deeper roster in women’s basketball, adding Plum to a group that already includes Aliyah Boston, Chelsea Gray, Satou Sabally, and Nneka Ogwumike.
For Plum, the switch represents a fresh opportunity after never receiving a signature shoe during her previous partnership.
Off the court, her profile continues to rise through endorsements and collaborations, while on the court, expectations are growing in Los Angeles. The Sparks have reshaped their roster with added veteran presence, allowing Plum to operate with less pressure as the primary leader.
Adidas’ momentum in the basketball sneaker space shows no signs of slowing, and Anthony Edwards remains at the center of that push.
The Minnesota star recently gave fans an early look at his upcoming AE 3, offering the first glimpse of the next evolution in his signature line.
The AE series has already established itself as one of Adidas’ most successful recent launches, with the AE 1 and AE 2 gaining traction among both NBA players and everyday hoopers.

Based on initial impressions, the AE 3 appears to build on that foundation rather than reinvent it completely.
Visually, the new model keeps the futuristic identity that defined its predecessors but introduces a more streamlined design. The upper looks lighter and less bulky than the AE 2. At the same time, elements from the original AE 1 silhouette remain, which maintains continuity across the line.
The timing of the leak aligns with Adidas’ broader push in basketball. Alongside Edwards, the brand continues to feature stars like Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, and Damian Lillard, while also integrating younger talent into its ecosystem.
