For the first time ever, an FBS college football game could be played at London’s Wembley Stadium, with Kansas and Arizona State in talks to face off, per Brett McMurphy.
Once it is official, the Big 12 matchup is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 19, 2026, marking the first conference game for both programs. The game was originally slated to be a home contest for Kansas.
McMurphy also noted that “Kansas officials see this game in London as an ideal fit because of the reduced capacity at Booth Memorial Stadium due to Phase 2 of the stadium construction,” via On3.

Arizona State will make its first overseas trip since 1990, while Kansas has never played outside the United States. This would also mark the second consecutive year that two Big 12 teams open their season abroad, following Iowa State and Kansas State’s Week 0 matchup in Dublin this year.
Another Big 12 program is set to play overseas next season, with TCU scheduled to face North Carolina in Dublin, Ireland, on Aug. 29, 2026.
This matchup would be another step in the Big 12’s push to grow its international presence. With three teams set to play overseas in 2026, the conference is taking advantage of global opportunities to give its programs more exposure and reach new fans around the world.
