Arguably the top running back prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, Boise State's Ashton Jeanty could be in contention to go within the top picks this spring. And Pete Carroll's Raiders have a decision to make at No. 6 overall.
Coming off a 4-13 season under Antonio Pearce, it's up to new head coach Carroll, along with new general manager John Spytek, to get things back on track in Las Vegas.
Questions at quarterback aside, the Raiders could use a talented running back like Jeanty after finishing dead-last in the NFL in rushing last season (79.8 yards per game).
Jeanty (5-foot-9, 215 pounds) put together a historic season for the Broncos as a junior, falling just 27-yards shy of Barry Sanders' single-season rushing record set in 1988 at Oklahoma State.
Jeanty led Boise State to a Mountain West championship and College Football Playoff appearance while leading the country with 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns.
While it's not clear at this time if Carroll and Co. value Jeanty at sixth-overall, the Heisman Trophy runner-up made his thoughts on the new-look Raiders clear when speaking with the media at the NFL combine on Friday.
"I think that would be a great opportunity, especially (with) Pete Carroll (and his history of) running the football," he said.

Carroll's coached multiple star running backs, including Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush (USC) and First-Team All-Pro Marshawn Lynch (Seahawks).
If the Raiders do take a chance on Jeanty, he would join a running back room made up, for now, of veterans Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah, who are set to become free agents on March 12.
Additionally, former fourth-round pick Zamir White has one-year remaining on his rookie contract.
Unfortunately, Jeanty has elected to not participate in on-field workouts at the combine in Indianapolis. He is expected, instead, to perform at Boise State's Pro Day (March 26).
The 2025 NFL Draft will span from April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
