Auburn extended an official offer to Saraland 2026 wide receiver and Duke commit, DeShawn Spencer, on Friday, Aug. 1.

Spencer has a previous relationship with the Tigers’ staff. This relationship makes Spencer’s Auburn offer intriguing.

“Grant Miller (Assistant Director of Player Personnel) contacted me about attending some games this fall and just the relationship with the staff and the chemistry that I have with the players,” Spencer said. “I know most of the guys and just being able to watch them and see their development and how they go about being a collegiate athlete means a lot.”

The Saraland senior remains committed to Duke, but this recent offer does give him something to think about.

“It is definitely something to think about, considering they are still recruiting me and still have me on their radar,” Spencer said. “There is no scene like an Auburn game. The games are crazy, they’re exciting and so much amazement. It’s a process and something to think about, but I remain committed to Duke.”

Spencer does plan to take a trip to Auburn in the fall.

The senior is listed at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds. He is coming off a productive junior campaign, where he posted 54 catches, 1,220 yards and 16 touchdowns.
