The Badgers staff has been committed to finding the right guys in the 2027 class early, and the Middle Tennessee game was a major recruiting event.
Wisconsin hosted a variety of recruits from priority targets to players who have only been in recent contact with the program. Wisconsin put the pressure on themselves to deliver both on and off the field, and the program certainly left a positive impression on the recruits. Among the many visitors, two defensive recruits stood out as the athletes have been closely tied to the program for quite some time.
Fellow three-star edge rushers Brian DeMoss and Isaac Miller both visited the campus during the 42-10 win over Middle Tennessee. The Badgers made a point of offering and building relationships early with many targets within the 2027 class who the staff deem suitable fits.
DeMoss is one of the most notable edge rushers in the midwest and currently holds an impressive list of offers that includes Arizona State, Washington, Michigan, and Ole Miss among others. Wisconsin extended an offer to DeMoss back in January and have kept a close relationship with the recruit since then. DeMoss is currently the 484th recruit in the class and the 17th overall recruit in Illinois in the 2027 class but likely will take another step forward this season on the field.
Miller, however, is a bit more familiar with the Badgers and the program as a whole since the recruit is a native of Wisconsin. Miller also holds a large list of scholarship offers but has been in contact with Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas, and Northwestern recently. Wisconsin has worked hard to develop a close relationship with Miller in an effort to keep the best talent in a particularly stacked 2027 in-state class home.
The Badgers staff might be close to both DeMoss and Miller, but programs such as Minnesota, Purdue, Kansas, and Northwestern all pose a threat. Northwestern has not offered DeMoss yet, but the program has been scouting the recruit for months.
DeMoss and Miller have both been significant targets early for Wisconsin as the Badgers staff continues to try and land the correct program fits before other programs become involved. Wisconsin is not afraid to shy away from a fight, which can be seen with the pursuit of Israel Abrams, a four-star quarterback in the 2027 class with SEC interests. However, the Badgers have many players within the class who they deem perfect fits for the program regardless of star rating or a small offer list.
Outside of DeMoss and Miller, Wisconsin also hosted top offensive line target Cole Reiter once again as the pursuit of the recruit continues to heat-up. The Badgers have multiple expert predictions to land Reiter in the future and the recruit has not been quite as close to any other program. The real question now is when the Badgers will be able to finalize a commitment from the recruit given the immense lead in his recruitment that is currently present.
