The Philadelphia Phillies are running away with the National League East with just weeks left in the regular season, and Kyle Schwarber is a big reason why. While the Phillies were effectively putting the Mets to bed in the division race, Schwarber was making Philadelphia history. He became the second Phillie in franchise history to hit 50 home runs in one season, joining Ryan Howard’s 2006 campaign when the big first baseman hit 58.
Schwarber has done nothing but hit since joining the Phillies in 2022, and his 181 home runs in his first four seasons with the team are the third-most ever in that span behind just Babe Ruth with the Yankees and Mark McGwire with the Cardinals.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Just 34 players in MLB history have reached the 50-homer milestone in a season. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
