A whole new Ken is about to enter the Barbie-verse. If the original Ken doll’s job is ‘Beach,’ we’d guess this new Ken doll’s job would be ‘Halfpipe.’

In celebration of Ken’s 65th anniversary year, Mattel and the Barbie brand have announced that none other than Olympic gold medalist and the founder of the Snow League and WHITESPACE, Shaun White, is getting his own Ken doll. White is the third honoree in the Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Collection, along with LeBron James and Lenny Kravitz.

The Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Collection was created to recognize men who have made a significant impact on modern culture. White has left his legacy on snowsports as one of the most successful (and probably famous) snowboarders of all time, with three Olympic gold medals and 23 X Games medals.

In 2022, White launched his own brand, WHITESPACE, which now makes outerwear, snowboard hardgoods, and other apparel and accessories. In 2024, White launched his halfpipe competition league, the Snow League, which just kicked off its second season in New Zealand.

“As we continue celebrating Ken’s 65th anniversary, we’re excited to recognize Shaun White as the latest honoree in our Barbie Signature Kenbassadors collection. A trailblazer in action sports, Shaun has inspired generations through his athletic achievements, creativity, determination and entrepreneurial spirit. His influence continues to resonate with fans around the world, and we’re excited to celebrate him through this doll,” said Nathan Baynard, Vice President and Head of Barbie, Mattel, in a press release.

The doll is shaped in Shaun’s likeness and comes dressed in a black & white kit, inspired by his WHITESPACE outerwear. White’s doll is complete with riding boots, a Snow League jersey, goggles, a helmet, and a tiny snowboard. That’s more than Kenough, if you ask us.

You can purchase the Barbie Signature Shaun White Kenbassadors Doll online and at major retailers for $80, starting on October 27.

“It’s pretty wild to think that the red-haired, freckled kid who was always the odd one out at school and spent all his time skating and snowboarding would one day have his own Barbie Signature Kenbassador doll. I definitely didn’t grow up looking like the traditional image that comes to mind when you think of Barbie and Ken, so I feel like this is a win for all the redheads out there!” said White in a press release. “I also love that the doll represents so many of the things I’ve always cared about – snowboarding, creativity, doing things differently and having fun along the way. Some of the toys I had as a kid really sparked my imagination and helped shape the things I became passionate about, so it’s pretty cool to think that this doll could be that for a kid in the next generation. I hope it reminds people that you don’t have to fit a certain mold. Find what you love, be yourself and go for it. You never know where it might take you.”

We’re all for White getting his own Ken doll and a little snowsports representation in the mainstream. However, if Barbie is supposed to be all about empowering women , can we get an Eileen Gu Barbie too?
