Tennis anyone? The college tennis season starts later this month with indoor play. The outdoor season begins in March. Big 12 Conference play will also begin in March.

This week, the Big 12 Conference released its preseason polls for both the men's tennis and women's tennis teams. On the men's side, Texas was picked to finish first, and TCU was picked to finish second. On the women's side, Oklahoma State was picked to finish first, and TCU was picked to finish second.

Conference play has been expanded in 2024 with the addition of new schools. The men's side now has eight teams with the addition of BYU and UCF. All four of the new schools - BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF - play women's tennis, so all 14 teams in the league will compete for that title.

In addition to the Big 12 preseason polls, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Men’s Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll was released this week. Virginia was slated at the top preseason men's program in the nation. The Horned Frogs are ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll.

The No. 4 preseason ITA team ranking marks the third consecutive year TCU will start the season ranked inside the top-five. TCU slotted in at No. 3 to commence the 2023 campaign and began the 2022 season ranked fifth. The Horned Frogs went on to win the ITA Indoor National Championships both times.

The Horned Frogs have spent 199 consecutive weeks inside the top-10 of the ITA rankings and earned nine consecutive top-10 final ITA team rankings. TCU is also the only program in the country that has earned a top-10 final ITA team ranking every year since 2015.
