Milan are subjecting Victor Boniface to an unusual series of tests, putting the Bayer Leverkusen striker through an extremely in-depth medical that will continue on Saturday.

The deal was struck to secure the centre-forward on loan for around €5m with an option to buy for a further €25m.

He started his medical tests on Friday, attending both the Milan club facilities and the required CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) examinations.

However, Boniface then went to the Galeazzi Hospital in Milan for more thorough checks.

Boniface having far more Milan medical tests than usual

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Milan called their trusted orthopaedic surgeon back from his vacation only to perform the examination on Boniface.

It seems even that was insufficient, as he will have yet more tests on Saturday morning before the Rossoneri go through with the transfer.

He had a succession of muscular problems last season that affected his form and saw him make only 27 competitive matches for Bayer Leverkusen, still scoring 11 goals with two assists.

Before that, he twice had surgery for anterior cruciate ligament injuries in his knees in March 2019 and November 2020.
