Brendan will be here for five in a row.
There’s been a lot of chatter in the last few days regarding the future of Brendan Rodgers, mainly from the pot stirring Scottish mainstream media.
Clowns like Kris Boyd have been trying to fuel controversy by stating that Brendan won’t see out the season, and whilst you can never say never, I’m supremely confident that the Irishman will see out the reminder of his contract at the very least.
One reason this ‘opinion’ is being floated, is that Celtic are top of the league, whilst the media darlings at Ibrox are struggling after just four league games in without a win to their name. Nothing like a good old squirrel eh?
Despite Celtic’s very public failings in the transfer window, and the lack of confidence in the current board, we are more than capable of not just competing for honours, but winning them with Brendan Rodgers at the helm. He’s won every single Scottish Premiership he’s contested and it’s hard to see that run of trophy winning ending in this campaign.
There is of course the enemy within, those who briefed against Brendan in the Sun newspaper on Friday night and that compliant blogger who is incapable of thinking for himself and is happy being the puddle on his master’s knee. The entire Celtic support has seen though him a long time ago.
Brendan will no doubt have been left disappointed with the latest going ons, but he knew the score when he committed to a second spell at the club and knew who his enemies were when he walked back in. He might feel disappointed that Dermot Desmond has perhaps not fully honoured his promises made in the late spring of 2023.
If Brendan was going to walk he’d have done it by now. The events of the last week means that for self-preservation reasons alone, the Board couldn’t dream of sacking the manager.
Block out the noise, Brendan is here for five in a row at the very least.
Look I’m
