The Denver Broncos selected running back RJ Harvey at the end of the second round during the 2025 NFL Draft. After joining the Broncos, Harvey was asked why he wanted to come to Denver over other teams. His answer was short, but strong.

During the Broncos' rookie minicamp interviews, Harvey was asked why the Broncos were one of the teams he wanted to go to leading up to the draft. Harvey had a short response that instilled confidence.

Harvey said, "Bo Nix. I love how he plays."

It's been some time since the Denver Broncos had a young quarterback who was drawing talent to the organization. With Bo Nix going into year two, he's already drawing intrigue from other players in college and the NFL.

This message from Harvey on Nix shows how much confidence he has in the second-year quarterback out of Oregon. Nix is coming off an impressive rookie season, where he flashed a lot of potential.

Nix finished the year with 3,775 passing yards and 29 touchdowns on a 66.3 percent completion percentage. Nix also only threw 12 interceptions, and took 24 sacks.

It was a great year for the rookie quarterback, and if not for Jayden Daniels having one of the best rookie seasons ever for a quarterback, Nix might've had a shot at winning Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Harvey himself is coming off an impressive 2024 season with the UCF Knights. Harvey was named a third-team Associated Press All-American, and first-team All-Big 12. He ran for 1,577 rushing yards, 22 rushing touchdowns, and also hauled in 20 receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns.

It was his best season in college football, and was the year that Harvey cemented himself as a worthy draft choice for a team. The Broncos took Harvey with the 60th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, a little ahead of where consensus boards had him going.

The Broncos selection of Harvey is meant to pair the UCF running back with their rookie quarterback for the next four years together. Harvey and Nix will be on the roster through the 2028 season, with the hope they can help each other continue to develop.
