Browns' Shedeur Sanders Gets Surprising Draft Label

The Cleveland Browns drafted Oregon star Dillon Gabriel in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. But the team then took the player that many teams seemed afraid to...

Shedeur Sanders.

It is hard to dispute the fact that the Browns got a steal drafting him with the 144th pick in the fifth round. And in a recent article by PFF outlining the biggest steals from every round of the draft, Sanders' name unsurprisingly comes up.

"Sanders may be the most polarizing player in the class, as some believe the Colorado signal-caller should have been QB1, while others hold concerns with his game," PFF wrote. "Nevertheless, he’s an undeniably talented player who throws with anticipation and can stand in the pocket to deliver with ice in his veins."

Many mock drafts had Sanders going as high as the top 5, but when it came time for the draft, he kept sliding in an unprecedented turn of events. But he will go into the season looking to prove all of the teams that passed on him wrong.

Sanders finished his final season at Colorado with 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns on 74 percent completion, all of which led the Big 12 Conference. Many call him "entitled" on account of who his father is, but there is no debating that the young QB has immense talent.

The Browns currently have five quarterbacks on their roster, but aren't overly committed to any one of them. As a result, there is a path to be the starting quarterback for Sanders in his rookie season.
