In a tense United Rugby Championship match at Thomond Park on Saturday, the Vodacom Bulls narrowly defeated the Munster team by a score of 16-13. The Bulls secured a historic sweep of all four Irish provinces in the United Rugby Championship.

Bulls Director of Rugby Jake White termed the win as "massive," noting, “The first time Munster got into our 22 was in the 34th minute, which again showed how much control we had in the beginning and made sure that we didn’t give them entries into our 22.”

White acknowledged his side’s discipline and resilience, especially in the final moments. “We needed this sort of momentum heading into the playoffs,” he said.

From the start, the match was fiercely physically contested. Jack Crowley took Munster to an early lead with a penalty, but Marcell Coetzee powered through the scoreline to score the first try for the visitors.

Johan Goosen further expanded the Bulls’ lead with a penalty despite the weather conditions getting worse in Limerick.

Just before halftime, Munster made a comeback. A perfectly executed attack from Thaakir Abrahams saw him touch down in the corner, with Alex Nankivell and Crowley placing a good conversion, leveling the score to 10-10 at halftime.

The intensity continued in the second half, and Embrose Papier was sent to the sin bin. Goosed secured another penalty to propel the Bulls ahead despite being reduced to 14 men.

Keagan Johannes, who missed an opportunity earlier to nudge the Bulls, wrapped up the win with a penalty in the 72nd minute, bringing the score to 16-13.

The victory sees the Bulls seal their third position in the URC standings, while Munster falls to eighth.
