BYU fans, remember the name: Brody Rudnicki.

In a move that signals confidence in the future of the quarterback room, BYU football extended a scholarship offer this week to 2027 prospect Brody Rudnicki, a promising gunslinger out of powerhouse Folsom High School (Calif.). The offer came after Rudnicki turned heads at BYU’s Summer Camp, becoming just the second quarterback in his class to earn a Cougar offer.

Despite backing up five-star phenom Ryder Lyons, Rudnicki has built a strong résumé of his own. In limited action as a sophomore, he racked up nearly 2,000 passing yards, added 400+ yards on the ground, and accounted for 34 total touchdowns across just eight games averaging over four touchdowns per game.

“Wow after a great camp I am blessed to have received an offer to my mom’s Alma mater Brigham Young University #gocougs,” Rudnicki said in a social media post Tuesday.

Rudnicki’s camp performance reportedly showcased elite arm strength, field vision, and mobility, traits that have already attracted offers from Arizona State, Minnesota, Cal, UNLV, Colorado State, and Nevada.

There’s more than football drawing Rudnicki to Provo. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he’s already visited BYU during spring practices and has family ties to the university, as his mother attended BYU as a student.

This marks a significant early move in BYU’s 2027 recruiting class, with Rudnicki joining four-star quarterback Sione Kaho as the only other QB target offered by the Cougars. BYU has a history of investing early in high-ceiling signal callers, and Rudnicki checks every box.

For Cougar fans, this could be the start of something special. As the recruiting cycle heats up, don’t be surprised if Rudnicki becomes a national name.
