Dating back to 1984, the NBA has played games globally in preseason and the regular season. The first such game, known as the NBA Global Games, was a 1984 preseason game between the Phoenix Suns and New Jersey Nets in Italy.

Earlier this season, the Miami Heat won against the Washington Wizards, 118-98, in Mexico City.

With the rise of San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama, born in Le Chesnay, France, the NBA wisely scheduled its 21-year-old budding superstar to play in two games this season in Paris.

WNBA standout Caitlin Clark praised Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton as the 24-year-old was having a standout game against "Wemby" and the Spurs on Saturday.

Haliburton had 28 points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks on 11-of-17 shooting, including 6-for-9 from three-point range in 28 minutes.

The Pacers defeated the Spurs, 136-98, to split the two-game series. San Antonio won Thursday's game, 140-110. In that game, Wembanyama scored 30 points and delivered 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal and five blocks.

Indiana (24-20) is the Eastern Conference's No. 5 seed. San Antonio (20-22) is the No. 12 seed in the West and is on the outside looking in for a chance at postseason play.

Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and last season's Rookie of the Year, is still a few months away from starting her second professional season. Clark and the Indiana Fever will begin the 2025 season against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on May 17.
