Caleb Williams has opened up about the figures who shaped his business mindset, highlighting a mix of personal influence and some of the biggest names in sports.

The Chicago Bears quarterback has consistently spoken about thinking beyond football, and that approach is rooted in both his upbringing and the examples set by elite athletes who built successful ventures off the field.

That combination of personal and professional influence defines how he sees his future. It also explains why his role models span different areas.

Caleb Williams says his father was his first business role model

Williams discussed his influences in a conversation with Front Office Sports News, where he was asked about the people who shaped his business thinking.

He made it clear that his earliest inspiration came from close to home rather than from sport.

Williams said, “Yeah, I think first and he’s not an athlete, is my father. He’s been a businessman my whole life. He showed me hard work and what it takes.

“So, I would definitely say, it started with him at a young age, going to his meetings.”

The answer highlights how his entrepreneurial mindset developed long before his rise in football.

Williams then pointed to several iconic athletes who have successfully transitioned into business.

He said, “I mean, MJ [Michael Jordan] has been the model. Magic Johnson has been the model. Kobe [Bryant], has been a model for all their foundation and all their businesses.

“How’s that been, for them and then, Steph Curry, the new age. I know, he’s on the latter part of his career.”

The list reflects a clear pattern: players who built lasting impact beyond their playing days.

For Williams, those examples serve as a blueprint for what his own post-NFL journey could look like.
