Davis spent four seasons (2019-2022) at Oklahoma before he transferred to Miami last year. Between the Sooners and Hurricanes, the Florida native played 59 games (34 starts) with 145 tackles, 15 passes defended, forced two fumbles and a sack.
Going back to his home state, Davis started 12-of-13 games last season for Miami. He recorded a career-high 42 tackles and was a runner-up in the 2023 Pinstripe Bowl to Rutgers and fellow Cardinals draftee Max Melton.
Stated by NFL draft analyst Steve Muench, Davis may be small by NFL cornerback standards, but has the attributes to defy the odds.
“Davis played at Oklahoma for four seasons and Miami for one season,” Muench said. “He is undersized with short arms, but he has an outstanding closing burst and runs well. He’s tough and willing to get involved in run support.”
After being drafted back-to-back days, Davis and Melton will go from college foes to Cardinals teammates. Both will join Sean Murphy-Bunting Garrett Williams, Andre Chachere, Michael Ojemudia, Darren Hall, Kei’Trel Moore, Qwauntrezz Knight, Starling Thomas V, Divaad Wilson and Quavian White in the defensive back room.
Finishing the 2024 NFL Draft, Arizona came away with Davis, Melton, WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Christian Jones, DT Darius Robinson, WR Tehjaun Palmer, DE Xavier Thomas, S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, RB Trey Benson, OT Isaiah Adams, TE Tip Reiman and CB Elijah Jones.
