Chargers' 7-round mock draft features some huge names at needy areas

The NFL draft is rapidly approaching, as teams will begin to put the final touches on their big boards. The Los Angeles Chargers have 10 picks to work with this April, as they can potentially bolster their roster into contenders if they hit on the right selections.

Mock drafts have been going on since October, but they've been becoming more frequent as the draft nears. Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports made an entire seven-round mock draft, including a trade up for the Chargers. Here's a look at every pick Trapasso made for the Bolts:

Round 1, No.13 (trade up): TE Tyler Warren, Penn State
Round 3, No.86: RB Cam Skattebo, Arizona State
Round 5, No.158: DT Aeneas Peebles, Virginia State
Round 6, No.181: OG Connor Colby, Iowa
Round 6, No.199: RB Trevor Etienne, Georgia
Round 6, No.209: EDGE Fadil Diggs, Syracuse
Round 6, No.214: CB Robert Longerbeam, Rutgers
Round 7, No.256: S Wyett Ekeler, Wyoming

To note, in the Chargers' trade up with the Miami Dolphins, they gave up their second (No.55) and fourth (No.125) round picks. Thus, leaving them with eight selections.

The trade up for Warren was deemed 'aggressive' but it ensures the Chargers get the tight end prospect that they want. It also jumps the rival Denver Broncos, who selected Colston Loveland. Adding to the offensive weaponry is Cam Skattebo in the third round, which could turn into a homerun.

Skattebo ran for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns on 293 carries for the Sun Devils last season, as he garnered serious coverage during his insane campaign. Skattebo has a bigger frame and doesn't shy away from contact, but also is explosive enough to be a real threat whenever the ball is in his hands.

Their third pick of the night in Aeneas Peebles is great value. This would be a solid move considering their lack of bodies at defensive tackle. Peebles, while a tad undersized, uses his strength to his advantage to overtake offensive linemen. Peebles had 31 tackles, three sacks and seven tackles for a loss last year for the Hokies. He spent the previous four years at Duke.

The final five picks are all developmental, more depth pieces than anything. The most notable selection is Trevor Etienne, brother of Travis, who plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Etienne rushed for 609 yards and nine touchdowns on five yards per carry for the Bulldogs last season.

Connor Colby is an intriguing option, as the Chargers look for upgrades at guard. They won't fully be banking on a sixth-round pick to come in and be a day one starter, but the hope is to develop him into something worthwhile.

This would be a solid draft haul for the Chargers.
