Chicago Stars FC are continuing their rollout ahead of the 2025 NWSL season kicking off in March.
Chicago Stars FC, along with the rest of the NWSL, released their 2025 secondary kit on Wednesday as the club is in Florida preparing for the upcoming season.
The secondary kit features a base black with grey highlights throughout the design while including a black and white Chicago Stars FC crest. The neck features a red half-collar that is also present around the end of the sleeves on the secondary kit. Wintrust is the primary front-of-kit sponsor for this piece.
The replica adult kits are available for $95 before customization and authentic kits are $195 before customization. Chicago’s 2025 green goalkeeper kit is also available, but that starts at $110.
This kit release is just another step in the club’s effort to establish themselves in Chicago after rebranding to Chicago Stars FC from the Chicago Red Stars in the offseason.
I actually really like the look of the kit, especially the half-collar with the red accent. There’s nothing boring about this secondary kit, unlike the club’s previous secondary kit, and it will stand out on broadcasts throughout the 2025 NWSL season.
I also really enjoyed the marketing language that went with this kit release:
“A menacing alter ego to impose on our opponents anywhere we go. When our players don this kit, they embody an indomitable force. The sleek, dark design with liquid metal-like patterns symbolizes the relentless intensity that lies within and our ability to adapt to any challenge.
“As our team steps onto the field, they carry with them the mentality of this alter ego. It's the embodiment of a fierce, unyielding spirit that refuses to back down.”
The price point for an authentic kit is incredibly inaccessible, but this item is worth one’s time if you’re willing to make the investment.
