A Clemson team bus struck a light pole Saturday morning while en route from the team hotel to Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta for the Tigers’ matchup against Georgia Tech, according to TigerNet reporters Tony Crumpton and David Hood.
The accident happened just hours before kickoff. Per the report, no players or staff members were injured, however, the bus sustained visible damage, as shown in photos shared on social media.
The timing of the accident added to what was already shaping up as a massive early-season game for both teams. The No. 12-ranked Tigers (1-1) entered Saturday needing a win after dropping their season-opener against LSU, while Georgia Tech (2-0) hopes to continue its strong start under head coach Brent Key, which included a 27-20 season-opening win over Colorado.
