Coen Echols selects the LSU Tigers over the Auburn Tigers two days after National Signing Day. The Katy (Texas) High School offensive lineman is one that numerous programs made a priority, including Auburn.

To get to the point where Echols made LSU his future college home, Texas A&M was the school he first pledged to on June 23, 2023. With Jimbo Fisher's firing, Echols chose to reopen his recruitment. Auburn's chances became viable once again, with a catch.

With an official visit to Auburn (June 9) already complete, Echols made an unofficial visit on Nov. 25. By all indications a visit to Auburn went well for Echols. LSU's counter would be soon thereafter.

LSU (Dec. 15) having Echols on campus last, and Echols also being on an official visit, might be the deciding factor for the talented offensive lineman deciding to wear the purple and gold.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, the 6-foot-3 and 290-pound Echols is the #255 player in the class of 2024. He's also the 12th-ranked interior offensive lineman and 43rd player in Texas.
