Cold Hearts & Jelly Fam Get Big Wins

Game Results:

Jelly Fam 79, YNG Dreamerz 77

Cold Hearts 97, Diamond Doves 84

In Friday evening’s opening night game, Jelly Fam staved off a late game comeback from the YNG Dreamerz, pulling off a 79-77 win

  • Jelly Fam, who led by 10 going into the fourth quarter, saw their lead slip to just one in the waning minutes of the game and nearly lost the lead as they missed seven consecutive free throws in the final minute of the game

  • The Dreamerz got possession of the ball, down just one point with ten seconds on the clock, but were unable to get a shot up due to an untimely turnover out of bounds

Jelly Fam’s Ian Jackson was the star of the show, as he scored a game-high 22 points, including some timely buckets down the stretch. Elijah Moore served as the games co-star alongside Jackson, going for 19 points while pulling down six boards and dishing out a team-high five assists

Eli Ellis was held to his lowest scoring total of the season for the YNG Dreamerz, as he “only” managed 19 points, while fighting against double and triple teams for most of the night. Don Lewis continued to prove he is a legitimate threat from downtown with another three triples, as his night finished with a line of 17 points, five boards and four assists ️

A rocky close to the fourth quarter wasn’t enough to stop the Cold Hearts from closing out their second straight win, as they defeated the Diamond Doves by a score of 97-84. The Cold Hearts are now tied atop the standings with the City Reapers with a 7-2 record, while the Diamond Doves fell to the bottom of the standings as they sit at 1-8

Kanon Catchings continued his stellar 2024, as he led the team with 25 points and consistently made the right reads on the court and had his second consecutive game with a massive poster dunk. Reynan Dos Santos has quietly had a stellar 2024, as well as he has scored in double figures in two out of three games, and put up a cool 20 points to go along with six boards on Friday night

For the Diamond Doves, Jeremiah Johnson had one of his hottest games of the season, scoring 27 points, which moves him up to fifth in the league in scoring this season. Ketraleus “Bo Buckets” Aldridge made his presence felt in his first visit to Atlanta with a well rounded stat line of 15 points, four rebounds and six assists, which included an explosive dunk to open up the game
